Kaunas, Lithuania’s second-largest city, is located in the central part of the country at the confluence of the Nemunas and Neris rivers. It lies 100 km from the capital, Vilnius, and 212 km from the country’s largest port, Klaipėda. Kaunas is a creative and modern city, an important centre of culture, science, industry, transport, and history.
