Pelėdas sukūrė ir Žaliakalnyje ant tvoros patupdė skulptorius V. Grybas, taip tapęs kalno krikštatėviu. Per šimtą metų pelėdų gerokai sumažėjo, bet likusios atidžiai stebi miestą iš aukšto.

- Sculptor V. Grybas created and perched the owls on the fence in Žaliakalnis, becoming the hill’s symbolic godfather. Many of the owls have vanished over the past century, but the ones that remain still keep watch over the city from above.
