Breakfast is undoubtedly the most important meal of the day. It can be the most impressive, too. We love eating out early in the morning before work or on weekend afternoons – after all, it’s much easier to order a granola bowl or Eggs Benedict than to make them at home. Here’s a list of top breakfast and brunch places in Kaunas. Don’t forget to capture your time there and tag the pictures with #kaunastic on social media.

Brunch culture is thriving in Kaunas. And here’s a brave new spot called BōHEME HOUSE. Together with its indescribably beautiful rooms, the boutique guest house offers everlasting brunch. You can have it in your room, the lobby bar or the magnificent terrace (as soon as the weather allows it). Once you’ve settled down, choose between spinach omelette, peanut butter porridge or a breakfast quesadilla.
You don’t have to stay in this centrally located hotel to enjoy their travel-inspired breakfast buffet, but you absolutely can – the view to Laisvės alėja is breathtaking.

WEEKENDS
PARK AVENUE PERKŪNO AL. 4 EVERY SATURDAY AND SUNDAY 11:00-14:00
“Park Avenue” is a restaurant located in Ąžuolynas – in the city, but like a country house – radiating a harmony of peace, culture and history. The enchanting atmosphere of the place invites you to discover new flavors of European and Asian cuisines, which are further diversified by the magical weekend brunch tradition.
The local menu, served in the late mornings, is bright with everyone’s favorite classic dishes and their yet-to-be-discovered interpretations. From various Benedicts, shakshuka or avocado toast to Crêpes Suzette: both sweet and salty breakfast lovers will find something to enjoy here.
Located in a building formerly known as a bank, the stylish spot is as hospitable at night as it’s on cosy weekend afternoons. It’s the go-to place for those craving for a shakshuka or a chorizo French toast.
Next door to Devils’ Museum, M. K. Čiurlionis National Art Museum and Vytautas the Great War Museum, the café is one of the trendiest places in Kaunas this autumn, both for its artsy interior and the hospitality. Dinners are accompanied by DJs, and brunches consist of banana flambé, Japanese pancakes, Monte Cristo sandwiches and more.
Don’t be surprised if you meet a bunch of tall guys during your brunch. DIA is frequented by players of BC Žalgiris Kaunas, and they surely know what they like. We like the carefully crafted brunch menu and flawless service.
MOMO GRILL Karaliaus Mindaugo pr. 18A SATURDAYS 11:00–13:00
The restaurant is known for its flawless meat dishes – and a contemporary interior respecting the historic building. Booking a table is a must before heading there – both on weekday evenings and for weekend brunch. Wait till you see the menu and taste the signature dishes…
A tex-mex brunch is a brunch worth waking up on weekends. Pair your Bloody Marias with omelette quesadillas or tortilla sandwiches. We love the curly fries any time of the day…
A bowl of hot spicy soup can do miracles, especially after a decent night out. The hop doctor at one of our favourite gastropubs in the country knows this very well – this is why he serves ramen on weekends. Can you make it through the hangover burger, too? It’s just 180 g of beef and an egg. And then there are oysters.
